Anyone Familiar With Tetra Pond Pond Pump Troubleshooting?

By

I have a Tetra pond 2500 pump( above ground and a submersible part) it was running fine all spring and summer until today, it acts as if there is no power going to it, although there are no GFIs tripped and there is power at the outlet. Is there a sensor or somthing that would cause this? Or possibly a way to reset the pump? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Haven’t got a pond pump but have aquariums and fountain pumps. The first thing that comes to min is that your pump is probably clogged. I have a small pump in a water garden and I am constantly taking it out of the water and hosing it down. Sometimes the vents on the side are clogged by plant material and sometimes I just shoot water from the hose directly into the pump. Look for the reset button but try to rid the pump of any plant and mud debris.

I am familiar with TetraPond pumps because we do their marketing and packaging. By the size mentioned, you could have a TetraPond Dynatec or DHP pump. To the best of my knowledge there is no reset button. If the pump becomes clogged for an extended period of time and overheated, the thermo cut option will shut it off until it has cooled down. If there is power to it, I suggest unplugging, then give it a thorough cleaning. Remove and clean the sponge filter and check the inlet for any obstructions. Then try restarting.

Mine has a little button either on the bottom or the side that re-sets it. Mine will trip if it gets too clogged, if we have a brown out or power outage and sometimes if the water evaporates too low.
